Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

“I spent several summers growing up working in my dad’s practice. I was able to see that I like the interaction with people as well as the technical and hands-on portion of the job. It was interesting to me at the time, and I could see it being my career.”

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

“After graduating from Walla Walla College, I went on to earn my DDS in 2006 from the Loma Linda University College of Dentistry. While there, I was honored by being invited to join Omicron Kappa Upsilon, which is only offered to students ranked at the top of the class.

Since finishing school, I have earned my certification in IV conscious sedation and attended countless lectures and hands-on workshops in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry through Spear Education. I’ve also taken part in small group in-depth literature studies as a member of Spear Education’s Faculty Club Elite group. Technology is always evolving, so I have also taken multiple courses in advanced education in CEREC software to provide all levels of digitally based treatments.

Of course, a great dentist never stops learning, so I am also an active member of the American Dental Association as well as the Oregon Dental Association.”

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

“I’m married to my wonderful wife, Dr. Malinda, and we have two daughters as well as two dogs. My main hobby is being a private pilot! Whether it's just flying for its own sake or taking the family on small trips around the northwest, it’s endlessly engaging and fascinating. My other hobbies include mountain biking, skiing, and doing anything outside with my family.”
