Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

“When deciding on a career in high school/college, I was torn between wanting to become a dentist and a therapist. After speaking to my uncle who’s in the dental field, he said you can be both as a dentist. My goal as a dental provider is to offer compassionate care for my patients and make them feel as stress-free as possible. I believe that knowledge is power, so understanding the treatment needed, why it’s necessary, and how a problem can be prevented in the future is extremely important in bettering the overall oral health of my patients and the general public.

As a social person, I enjoy the perk of meeting new people every day, learning something new about them every time I see them (preferably every 6 months), and building a trusting and genuine friendship while creating a comfortable dental home for them.”

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

“After finishing dental school at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine, I completed my general practice residency at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, as I wanted exposure to more complex cases that were limited in our four-year school training. During this time, I was able to excel in my surgical skills and learn how to comprehensively treat patients of all ages with medical complications. Thereafter, I embarked on learning more about ways to provide conservative and cosmetic dental treatment. I look forward to further enhancing my skills, as each and every patient provides a learning opportunity to learn more and be a better clinician. To that end, I’m also proud to be an active member of the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.”

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

“I recently got married to my husband after 2+ years of long-distance dating. Back in California, I have my parents, two sisters, a brother, their significant others, and my adorable niece and nephew. I often find myself exploring new places through outdoor activities, going to restaurants, and visiting special attractions since I’m new to the Portland area. I am extremely close to my family and enjoy hosting and cooking new recipes for them. I’m a huge sports fanatic, growing up playing soccer and softball, and I love the 49ers unconditionally (even after post-season upsets).”
